Domestic Abuse

Warwickshire Domestic Abuse Service

Normal operational hours are Monday-Friday 9am-9pm and Saturday 8am-4pm.

The Helpline provides emotional and practical support and information to people experiencing or who have experienced domestic abuse and to those seeking help on another person’s behalf. Helpline staff will discuss the available options and support them with putting in a referral to the service.

If the lines are busy there is a voice mail system that enables callers to leave a message, the messages are checked at regular intervals throughout the day and all calls are returned, as long as it is safe to do so.

During the call the helpline support worker will respond to your individual needs, for example:

  • You do not have to give your name if you don’t want to; you are in control, you can put the phone down at any time
  • The trained worker is there to listen to you
  • They can discuss your safety and what you can do to keep yourself and your family safe
  • If you are thinking about leaving home because you are being abused by the person you are living with, or if you are being harassed or threatened at home by an ex-partner, the helpline worker can:
  • Give you help and advice on what services are available for you including emergency housing and counselling
  • Book an appointment with one of the specialist support workers.
  • Advise of the drop in services across Warwickshire each week
  • Be able to refer you to other agencies who can offer support and guidance e.g. a registered family law solicitor in your area
  • When this line is closed please contact the 24 hour, 365 days a year National Domestic Violence Helpline on Freephone 0808 2000 247
