A new initiative commisioned by Wawickshire County Council Public health department offers help for families, children, young people and adults, who meet specific criteria to maintain a healthy weight and/or become physically more active. Depending on your circumstances you may be offered free or subsidised help with weight control ,use of a gym or personal lifestyle support.
You may be eligible if have at least one child aged 4-12 who is overweight, or have a body mass index (BMI) of 30 or more or a BMI of 28 if there are complex needs.
You may also qualify for help if you have a one of the following medical problems: a mental health condition e.g. mild to moderate depression, anxiety, low mood; or a respiratory condition; musculo-skeletal condition; neurological condition; hypertension; risk of cardiovascular disease; diabetes type 1 and 2; Obesity or overweight; osteo/rheumatoid arthritis/osteoporosis; dementia - early to mid stages .
