Get a prescription

If you think you may need a prescription medicine which you haven't been prescribed  before, please make an appointment with the doctor.

If you have previously been given a prescription for a straightforward condition, such as hay fever, we may be able to issue a prescription after a telephone consultation. Please ask the receptionist.

Your local pharmacist should be able to give you advice for non-prescription medication.

Repeat prescriptions are normally for patients with long-term conditions who receive regular treatment. We have a computerised repeat prescription service.

  • Your doctor will decide who can have a repeat presecription.

  • From time to time we will ask you to see your doctor to review your medication. We do this to monitor your illness and medication.

  • You can ask for a repeat prescription by posting or leaving at reception your pre-printed order slip.
  • From December 2011 you can order your prescription on-line from this website. You will needs to register for this service by coming to the surgery where your  identity can  be confirmed, then you will be given an identification number. Click here

  • Wherever possible please give the exact drug names when ordering.

  • Please allow at least 48 hours before collecting the prescription.

  • Many local pharmacies will order on your behalf, saving you a trip to the surgery. You will need to organise this in advance with your chosen pharmacist.

  • We cannot take telephone requests for repeat prescriptions because of the possibility of error.
